Section 1

Before You Record

🧼

Clean your camera lens.

A dirty lens instantly lowers video quality.

📱

Always record vertically.

Stories should always be filmed in portrait orientation.

🎥

Use the Camera App.

Always record using your phone's camera first. Upload to Instagram afterward. Never record directly inside Instagram.

☀️

Check your lighting.

Natural light is always better. If indoors, keep lights on. Avoid dark videos.

📏

Keep clips between 5–10 seconds.

Short clips perform much better.

FAQ

Frequently Asked

Can I record directly in the Instagram app?

No. Always record with your phone's camera app first, then upload to Instagram. This preserves quality.

How long should each clip be?

5 to 10 seconds. Short clips hold attention and perform much better.

What if the gym is poorly lit?

Turn on all overhead lights and film near natural light sources. Avoid backlighting your subject.

Should I ask people for permission before filming?

Yes. A quick heads-up keeps the community feeling respected — and gets you more authentic smiles.

Can I zoom in on a technique?

Move closer instead. Digital zoom loses quality — your feet are the best zoom lens.
